High CPU Usage with RDP Gateway
#1
Hi,

Finding after 45 minutes to an hour ASG begins to max out the CPU
This only happens if I connect to servers via a RD Gateway.
If the server(s) I'm connecting to are only direct then it's fine.

Client computer is Windows 10, tried disabling AV completely and still the same.
This was also happening with ASG 2017, upgraded to 2018 and no change.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks

I'm mostly working over RD Gateway and never seen any high CPU usage...

Did you try to test it via mstsc to if it is has the same effect? I have no idea what could cause it...

Update to this, it's not just related to using RDP gateway.
Below is performance output for 3 x RDP sessions connecting to machines direct.
Strangely after closing the 3 RDP sessions the CPU went up, you can see after the spike in the attached image.
Left is with 3 sessions open, left is close.

Any advice? Logging or debug options?

But it seems to be not really a big spike in your charts - I can't tell you what is happening inside an RDP sessions or when or what memory is cleaned in the RDP control - there is no specific debug or logging available for the RDP control... Sometimes it could help to just minimize the application - .NET will try cleanup memory of the app when it is minimized
